Hyssop is an evergreen, bushy perennial native to southern Europe. A member of the mint family, Hyssopus officinalis can be used sparingly as a spice or macerated as a unique flavor to liqueurs. The plant has a long history of folklore in ancient Europe and was often hung in homes for protection. Hyssop herb is also typically made into a syrup or steeped and enjoyed as an infusion of hyssop tea.
Hyssop can aid in circulation and for support in upper respiratory illness, asthma, cough, sore throat, intestinal infections, gastrointestinal upset, gall bladder disease, poor appetite, and urinary tract infections.

Directions:
Steep 1-2 teaspoons in 8 ounces of water (208˚) for 10 minutes (depending on strength preference), and cover the container with a lid, to make hyssop tea. Add honey or sweetener for taste, if desired.
